Solar Power in the Garden

Gardeners have noticed that lights come on when they open the shed at the garden?

Just walk into the shed at Common Ground and a motion detector turns on the lights. The lights will turn off after a few minutes if there is no movement in the shed.

Kevin Rogers and Leroy Vilt installed solar panels on the shed’s roof and connected them to light fixtures inside. They had never worked with solar panels before, so it was a learning experience for both of them. Kevin has been a gardener at

Common Ground since the first year the garden was established. Leroy is his neighbor and always enjoys helping Kevin with projects. We really appreciate these two men and their efforts to provide our garden shed with solar energy!
